Company support as core task of economic promotion

The companies on site are the most important potential of the site. They are the drivers for growth and employment, just as - in the form of clusters - for cooperation and the expansion of value-added chains. The settled companies also form the basis and are often ambassadors for a focused settlement policy. One must assume that in the meantime in excess of 80% of new job opportunities and investments originate from existing companies.

In order to be able to offer the Augsburg companies comprehensive support and an optimal local framework for their success, the Augsburg AG has established the business field Network and Company Support under the auspices of the newly appointed director, Andreas Thiel, since the end of last year. The city of Augsburg has at the same time appointed Karl Bayerle in January 2006 as leader of the "Direktorium 2" - "Work, economy, city development, infrastructure". These two pillars together form the economic promotion of Augsburg.

Company cooperation, networks, clusters and technology transfer are the focal points of offers of the Augsburg AG. Further training and qualification are contents of the PRO-FIT project. The service of the economy directorate focuses on support of companies in matters of administration and site consultation.
