The Technology Transfer Centre (TTZ) in Aichach specialises in digital planning and manufacturing in the construction industry, with the aim of making a significant contribution to a sustainable and future-proof construction sector. Working in close collaboration with companies, innovative solutions tailored to real-world needs are developed in the specialist areas of solid construction and digital timber construction.

Companies in the construction industry, particularly craft businesses, can turn to the TTZ Aichach to have the Augsburg University of Applied Sciences design innovative solutions and tailor-made training programmes to meet their specific needs in solid construction and digital timber construction.

The aim is to pool expertise and know-how at the TTZ Aichach in order to develop innovative products and processes for specific applications: in solid construction, this includes alternative materials and production methods; in timber construction, it encompasses automated manufacturing processes and digital planning tools.

Current research activities include, amongst others:

  • Solid Construction 4.0, including 3D concrete printing
  • Timber Construction 4.0, including robotic timber processing
  • Load-bearing capacity tests, including those using recycled carbon concrete
  • Large-scale component tests
