Expertise from local innovation partners – Technology Centre Augsburg in the Augsburg Innovation Park
Augsburg Innovation Park: An attractive location for innovation
Since 2013, an exciting vision for the future has been taking shape on a 70-hectare site in the south of Augsburg, right next to the university – a vision that has long since become a reality. The Augsburg Innovation Park, home to the Technology Centre Augsburg (TZA).
The infrastructure of the Innovation Park has largely been completed. Ten buildings are already in use, and further ones are in the planning stage. The Innovation Park is not only a hub for businesses, but also a centre for cutting-edge research. Key institutions include the DLR SG Institute of Test and Simulation for Gas Turbines, the DLR Centre for Lightweight Production Technology, the Fraunhofer Institute IGCV, and the MRM Materials Research Institute. A total of 65 companies and 15 research institutions, with a combined workforce of around 2,400 employees, are now based in the Innovation Park (as reported in 2025). The site has thus established itself as one of the most important technology centres in southern Germany. The TZA offers a variety of spaces available for use by interested parties: areas suitable for laboratories, workshop spaces, a large pilot plant hall and office space. The communal facilities, such as meeting and event rooms and the cafeteria, provide opportunities for networking and create a pleasant atmosphere for work and relaxation.
The team at Augsburg Innovationspark GmbH is always on hand to assist tenants with a range of matters and supports technology transfer, networking, infrastructure and all issues relating to the Augsburg Innovation Park and the Technology Centre Augsburg.
