success story: lifelong learning Never stop learning – Lifelong learning in A³

The rapid pace of change in our society means that we are constantly faced with new challenges in our professional and private lives. Lifelong learning is the key to success if we don't want to be left behind. Not only for the society and the economy but also for the personal development of each individual. The Augsburg region offers numerous opportunities to go back to school and develop further at every stage of life.

What it's about:

Lifelong learning is essential in order to stay up to date in professional and private matters. For companies, too, investing in the (further) education of their employees is an important part of corporate success and securing skilled labour. The Augsburg education region offers a wide range of counselling and education services for all life situations.

Success through further training

Technical progress in particular presents us with new challenges and creates new fields of activity. Research and development are constantly bringing new innovations and fuelling rapid change. The half-life of knowledge is getting shorter and shorter. What was current today is already outdated tomorrow. In order not to lose touch, further training is one way to stay on the ball.

Employees deepen their knowledge and expand their profile with additional qualifications that optimally prepare them for their field of work. For many companies, the professional development of employees is therefore a key to success, which is why they promote lifelong learning. With the right further training programmes, companies can train employees individually to meet the specific requirements of the company. In some cases, it is also an opportunity to fill vacant skilled labour positions from within the company's own ranks through targeted qualification measures. At the same time, such an offer is also an important component of employer attractiveness, as it addresses the needs for personal development of motivated skilled workers. On the other hand, employees can use the new skills they have learnt to give new impetus to their day-to-day work - or aspire to a new professional position.

Variety of programmes in A3

The Augsburg region offers high-quality and numerous opportunities for further vocational training for adults. Language schools and further education centres impart knowledge as required. Part-time study programmes in the region are the solution for working people who still want to obtain a degree. These study programmes are specially designed for working people and take place alongside work.

The various continuing education providers often break new ground in order to fulfil the needs of citizens and employees in the region. In addition to imparting knowledge, counselling and learning soft skills play a major role in their offerings. The integration of specialised personnel with a migration background is also specifically promoted through language courses and projects for intercultural exchange. The A³ education portal (only in german) provides a complete overview of further education programmes in the Augsburg economic region.

The right approach to further training

As continuing professional development often takes up a lot of time and represents an additional burden, participants' patience can quickly be stretched. On the other hand, those who want to learn as much as possible in the shortest possible time should consider an educational holiday. Thanks to the compact course format, you can quickly complete a promising qualification. In the meantime, learners are released from their jobs so that they do not have to take on a double burden.

The financial aspect can also be an obstacle to deciding in favour of further training. An education voucher can help here, as you can benefit from state funding in connection with further training in Augsburg and the region. The right point of contact here is the local employment agency, which issues education vouchers and thus provides some financial support for those interested in further training.

Further training is often also financed by the employer, who benefits from the employee's improved qualifications. Companies that invest in their employees with good further training programmes secure their long-term business success. The A³ education region offers suitable training programmes.

Languages are the key to the world

In a globalised world, it is of great value to speak one or even several foreign languages in addition to your native language. This helps in everyday working life as well as on your next holiday trip. Region A³ offers a wide range of foreign language courses at every level. The interactive lessons make learning fun and are tailored to the needs of the language students.

Education portal of the A³ education region

The A³ region's education portal (only in german) is the ideal tool for finding the right thing from the multitude of offers and opportunities to acquire knowledge. The portal is a joint project of the city of Augsburg, the district of Augsburg and the district of Aichach-Friedberg to bundle the region's entire educational programme in a compact and centralised way. The offer is aimed at all career paths and generations with the aim of ensuring that everyone can find the ideal offer quickly and easily. A simple keyword search is used to filter and display courses from all providers on a particular topic. In addition, counselling services and funding opportunities are presented and a number of topics relating to education are covered. The offers are also bundled for specific target groups across all generations, from schoolchildren to senior citizens, to make the search easier. This allows interested parties to find information easily and compactly. A central component is the provider-independent educational counselling service, which provides individual support to all interested citizens in the region. Questions about retraining, qualification programmes and returning to work are answered here. Citizens of the region can also use the portal to obtain information and advice on topics such as health or integration. Counselling is free of charge and can take place in person, by telephone, online or by email. The counselling service is of course also aimed at companies that invest in further training and qualification in the region.
