Success story: A³ Real Estate Action Group Real estate industry networked

Over 100 industry representatives in the Augsburg economic region have joined forces to utilise a communication and cooperation platform. Together, the members of the Aktivkreis Immobilien (Real Estate Action Group) shape, promote and market the Augsburg region. They are united by a shared understanding of the future of their economic region. Network meetings promote exchange.

This is what it's all about:

  • Cooperating on shared values instead of competing
  • Making real estate locations fit for the future
  • Platforms offer investor and new customer acquisition

Vision for tomorrow

For over ten years, players in the regional real estate industry have been united in an open network called A³ Aktivkreis Immobilien. Together, they are working hard to promote their region. At the same time, the umbrella organisation of A³ location marketing offers their projects greater visibility. They are also united by a common vision: the Augsburg region is open, diverse and attractive to young and older people, companies and financiers from all over the world.

Vital value driver

The real estate industry recognised early on that it needs to work closely together, because the development of the real estate market is always a joint effort. The need for exchange is particularly high. The Aktivkreis is the voluntary driving force and representative of the interests of the real estate industry in the A³ region. To realise their vision, the members of the Aktivkreis Immobilien want to be a strong, vital and visible value driver.

The members provide impetus for urban and regional development as well as location marketing and contribute their expertise to relevant technical issues. In doing so, each member contributes the strengths of their segment. In this way, they aim to contribute to sustainable prosperity and social balance in order to make the Augsburg region fit for the future, while recognising its tradition. They see themselves as initiators and partners at the interface between the real estate industry, politics and administration.

The brand for the A³ real estate location is promoted by the members of the Real Estate Action Group. The marketing instruments are reviewed regularly, because only with the right instruments can the goal be achieved. This allows a clear distinction to be made from other locations with similar conditions.

‘We offer spaces for thinking and working in a special atmosphere and are developing listed areas, such as the former Augsburg slaughterhouse and cattle market, into today's SchlachthofQuartier. We are reliable, willing to invest and think long-term. With our projects, we not only create spaces, but also value – for ourselves and our region.’

How the industry network is making the future better:

  • Members actively shape the region for future generations
  • Network activities strengthen the positive perception of the location
  • They engage in critical discourse and offer solutions to the challenges of our time

Instruments for cooperation

Expertise is gathered and finds suitable platforms through dedicated specialist events, campaigns and event participation. Regio Augsburg Wirtschaft GmbH often takes on the role of moderator or organiser in this context. Activities are bundled within the industry network. This creates instruments with a strong external and internal impact.

The Augsburg region has already presented itself 15 times on the international stage with a joint stand at Expo Real in Munich. Private and municipal real estate players from A³ fly the flag there. They present their diverse projects and expertise. This enables the region to position itself as a top real estate and investment location in southern Germany. The A³ Real Estate Congress is the leading trade event in the region and beyond. Every year, high-profile speakers contribute their expertise. Excursions and accompanying exhibitions inspire participants from across the region at the B2B trade congress, which regularly attracts up to 350 guests.

The A³ (digital) Investor Days offer dialogue with market experts, prospective investors and multipliers. Major brokers, investors and press representatives can experience first-hand and through exciting projects why the region has become so attractive. Transparency is provided by the A³ Real Estate Market Report, a professional tool for addressing investors. It was also launched many years ago by representatives of the action group. With transparent data and information, it creates a sound basis for decision-making for all real estate players who want to develop new locations for themselves.

And since 2020, there has been a campaign for the region: the A³ location campaign addresses prospective investors, skilled workers and multipliers throughout Germany. Through its campaign partners, the region presents itself as lively, dynamic, innovative and sustainable in the heart of southern Germany. Further activities take place in the area of public relations. Whether in social media, with its own A³ real estate newsletter, or through the presentation of the real estate location on the regional economic development website, including a news blog and much more.

‘Digitalisation, urbanisation, demographic change and climate change are forcing us to rethink our approach, particularly when it comes to urban development planning. We are rising to this challenge and working with property owners, local authorities and project stakeholders to design projects that make optimal use of existing or newly acquired land.’

These are the special features of the project:

  • Consolidation for over ten years
  • Lively, growing network
  • Development of numerous activities with staying power

Open network

The A³ Real Estate Action Group is an open network that always welcomes new members. Alternating visits to hosts, with short presentations and tours, offer exclusive insights on site. For example, meetings have already taken place at Deuter Park Augsburg, the Augsburg gasworks, the Augsburg Innovation Park, the Sheridan Tower, the Dierig company and the mse Group.

A close-knit group, the steering committee of the Real Estate Action Group, regularly exchanges ideas at working meetings. They discuss topics relevant to the future, such as sustainable construction, securing skilled workers and social responsibility. A variety of other topics are also on the agenda as needed, such as the further development of the location and real estate campaign, the preparation of content for the A³ real estate congresses, the A³ real estate market report, and much more.

Three tips to emulate:

  • Offering added value for everyone: promoting knowledge exchange and cooperation projects
  • Strengthening a sense of identification in order to advance the location together
  • Discussing trends and topics: using platforms for ideas and innovative projects
