In order to integrate the academic and non-academic activities of the participating chairs and professorships as effectively as possible, the FIM Research Institute for Information Management works closely with the Fraunhofer Institute for Applied Information Technology (FIT), whose Business Informatics division was established in 2011 as a spin-off from the FIM Research Institute for Information Management. The vision of a world in which digitalisation is used responsibly for the benefit of individuals, the economy and society is thus to be fully realised. Most of the directors of the FIM Research Institute also hold senior positions at the Business Informatics division of Fraunhofer FIT.
