Collaboration with the Fraunhofer IGCV

Fraunhofer IGCV is dedicated to application-oriented research with a focus on efficient engineering, networked production and intelligent multi-material solutions. The institute facilitates innovation at the level of manufacturing processes and materials science, machinery and process chains, as well as factory and corporate networks. The aim of Fraunhofer IGCV is to bring together research and development in the fields of lightweight casting technologies, fibre-reinforced composites and automated manufacturing, to generate innovations for industry, and to drive forward more interdisciplinary research in the core industries of automotive engineering, aerospace and mechanical and plant engineering.

The most common forms of collaboration are:

  • Bilateral projects – The classic example of collaboration: the company identifies a need for research or development. A discussion with us will reveal the available solutions, the most suitable form of collaboration and the level of effort required.

  • Publicly funded projects – Medium- and long-term research projects carried out in a consortium of research and industry partners.

  • We offer services in the areas of materials and component analysis, prototype manufacturing, process chain analysis, operational organisation and technology consultancy.

Among other things, the IGCV is a member of the TEA network of transfer centres in the Augsburg region, which is open to cooperation with businesses.
